  • Couldn't disagree with you more. Everybody makes mistakes. Yeah, DW made a big one. But Intolerance was a huge muti-million dollar (in todays money and then!) attempt at REDEMPTION. What more do you want from a person? Broken Blossoms is one of the best movies of all time, and it will move you. What I think you should have done is watched those movies and *not* Birth of a Nation, if you find it so offensive. Your message here is that redemption isn't possible, so why try? I find that sad.

  • Here! Here!

  • fool

Intolerance is one of the great silents.

Are you a political figure or a movie reviewer? The Racism is a part of history just like the shooting of Lincoln that was also depicted.

  • Excuses to jump over some films! Get something agaisnt Hitchcock you'll save some time :P

I disliked Birth of a Nation and Intolerance, but liked the three others, even loved Broken Blossoms.

  • you gee elle why

    you ain't got no alibi

  • TOO BAD FOR YOU...as much as I detest Griffith's racism, Orphans of the Storm is one of the most beautiful movies I have ever seen (with the Willam Perry piano score). Pity you, pity you.

  • You seem like you're getting more comfortable with speaking on camera now. (I'm from the LJ community 2amtomorning, by the way.) You aren't stammering nearly as much or seeming as nervous when you do your introductions. Very good! =)
