I have a 73 AMX that looks very simular to this one (Olympic blue/ white T-stripe with blue interior). It has a 304 (some factory Group 19 parts) auto on the floor with consule. I've had mine for 8 years. Bought it when I was in high school for $550, non-running. After very little work it was back on the road. I beat the hell out of it (young and stupid) now its under restoration. It was alot of fun though and its something of a legend in my hometown. Nobody seems to know what kind of car it is.
i just seen your video today about the exhaust leak,i think your car had a 360 or 401, and you put in a 390. 360 and 401 heads had DOG LAGE exhaust port. the port holes or too big. 390 had them too. it you or using headers! , you need big one for D.LE.P.
You know, I guess I have a strange perception, but I think that a "fixer-upper" with flaws, waiting to be worked on, is a thing of beauty. Cool car. I finnaly just tanked the headers on my 72 sst 304, and went back to stock exhaust manifolds. I tried everthing, and they werent cheap headers either, I just think the engine ran to hot for them. Plus in Alaska, we have such funky weather.
check pass side header leak all the way back blown header gasket I went tho few of them check my 1974 javelin/amx out under sdavidson15 brand new 360c.i.d. .40 on headman headers and 2 1/2" pipe 2 chamber flowmaster mild cam 488*/488* 3:54 twin grip posi from a 72 Javelin SST still only about 2 miles on the motor sits in garage lol can't afford the fuel just start it up now and then.

My headers warped and it had a bad exhaust leak. They're junk now.
