This old bridge has gained an ominous reputation amongst motorcycle riders. Some 30 ft high over Lake Lavon, it has guardrails that are only 18 inches or so above the roadway. This summer, the drought has removed that water from beneath the bridge, so that one can see dry land underneath while driving by. Some have observed a certain vertigo-like effect. Additionally, at some time the bridge was re-paved with asphalt, then at some later time the asphalt was ground off with some huge machine that left big gouges in the pavement. While harmless to cars, these jagged gouges have been known to tossle motorcycles back and forth. As a result, some motorcyclists have refused to ever again ride the "Bridge of DEATH". This video shows a motorcycle rider's attempt to cross the "Bridge of DEATH". The effects of forces exerted on the bike from the gouges can be clearly seen, with interesting results.

Guess the government thought this bridge was too far gone to fix. It was removed in 2008.
