I did try the open beta briefly but was a bit late to start. I only made it a few levels in. Its hard to judge a mmo until you experience some later level stuff. I just refuse to risk $65 on something I may or may not enjoy at the end of the day.

Well you would never be able to try out (very) later level stuff in a trial since they tend to be limited in both time and level cap. Though you'll just have to pay attention to the TERA website for news about a trial then.

Oh OK thanks. I'm going to wait to buy this until its cheaper or at least f2p or f2b. But $50 + $15 a month seems crazy with no trial.

What baffles me is that people didn't try the game out during the open beta and such. Personally I had 3 friend codes to invite people into the last closed beta and even the headstart.

Though I guess there will be a trial coming eventually, most games starts out without a trial from what I've noticed. WoW did, Aion did, SW:TOR did and I think it doesn't have a trial still.

does this game become repetitive quick? they advertise a "true action mmo" but i come from vindictus which i believe is actually "true action"..and i can't help but think this looks like dragons nest with more clickable skills and less action than vindictus.

It really depends on the mob you are fighting, they got different attacks and such too and you actually have to figure out how to take them down without getting your own ass kicked, of course it doesn't have a bunch of finishers and such like I've seen from Vindictus so for some people it might get repetitive, this is a rather subjective thing since some people will find it repetitive and others might not.
