For the Feast of Pentecost, I present the collection of slides starting with Holy Trinity picture, followed by the image of dove representing the Holy Spirit and collection of art clips of the Holy Spirit descending on the Apostles and Our Lady gathered in the Upper Room after Our Lord Ascension. The next several images show descend of the Holy Spirit as hand painted in the manuscript of the Holy Scriptures. These are followed by Holy Spirit stained glass collection. The slide show is concluded by the vintage Holy Card of children receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation. The background music is Veni Creator Spiritus and Veni Sancte Spiritus chants by Benedictine Monks of San Domingo Silos Monastery and Come Holy Spirit hymn from the track "God of Loveliness" by Singing Nuns from Spokane, WA.

  • I've noticed that some Protestants on here have been a bit snippy with those of other denominations on this. Myself a non-denominational, I am distraught at this. All denominations, so long as they believe in Christ as the Messiah come to save man, are saved. I for one am absolutely fascinated with Catholic traditions, yet I love the laid-back Protestant sermons.

As for the caps-rage rant that squirell1952 put up: I disagree. It's not works that decide, but faith. That's all that matters.

  • @Opatrovat - thank you for your comment, I agree but for your last words: 'That's all that matters' (faith) let me cite the words of St Paul from Corinthians 13:2 which says: 'f I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God's secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn't love others, I would be nothing.'

If you legitimately studied science at a tertiary institution, you'd quickly learn that evolution is only a theory. There remains huge, gaping holes in the theory. Evolution is in fact an unprovable experiment as it talks of origins, which cannot be tested like any other legitimate scientific process. While 'survival of the fittest' and adaptation and natural selections certainly occur (and have), evolution cannot answer HOW life (and its complex design) exists.

  • @Opatrovat "In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." James 2:17

The Catholic Church is the fullness of the Christian faith. Jesus started our Church. Who started yours?

  • If one does not have the faith then he should find the Faith and not SQUABBLE about such things that are of no material matter!!

  • @rrbond07 I apologize for the misunderstanding. When I said faith was all that matters, I was stating my disliking for the fact that many consider works what gets you into either Heaven or Hell; aka, even believers can go to Hell. Of course faith in works is what matters, I believe in that wholeheartedly. However please do not assume what I obviously do in Christianity. I do not select certain parts, I believe in all of it. Perhaps my last statement did not clear that ip enough.

  • @Opatrovat You may be fascinated with Catholic traditions, but that is as far as it goes for you. There is more than just faith. You obviously select parts of scripture that would go along with what you want until those things stated in scripture are uncomfortable for you. Even the Apostiles had to work out their problems. They praticed their faith with works. One alone, without the other does not sufice.

  • Sang this many times in the Church Choir many years ago when attending Catholic School.

  • @squirell1952 no need to yell...
