From the CD Album "Pure Gold", Music & Lyrics By Bob Hilliard and Steve Edward Nelson
I'm sending you a big bouquet of roses
One for every time you broke my heart
And as the door of love between us closes
Tears will fall like petals when we part

I begged you to be different, but you'll always be untrue
I'm tired of forgivin', now there's nothin' left to do

So I'm sending you a big bouquet of roses
One for every time you broke my heart

I know that I should hate you after all you've put me through
But how can I be bitter when I'm still in love with you?

So I'm sending you a big bouquet of roses
One for every time you broke my heart

TRANSCRIBER'S NOTE: Another contributor says "Additional lyrics to 'Bouquet Of Roses' -
As per Readers Digest 'Treasury Of Best Loved Songs':

[2nd time through starts:]
'You made our lover's lane a road of sorrow
Till at last we had to say goodbye
You're leaving me to face each new tomorrow
With a broken heart you taught to cry'

  • Every time I hear Eddie Arnold I think of my mother. She loved him so much (Dad preferred Marty Robbins). Is that why country music is a knife in my soul -- for I hate the politics of the CSA! Southerners are members of my family. But I detest the CSA.

  • @ytdsgdjgfueyxn537 Really appreciate you're dropping by and listen to Eddie Arnold. Cheers !

  • Oh, I love this song! It reminds me of before the big fight between my dad and my grandma--he won't let us see her anymore, but I always listen to Eddy Arnold songs because she had an E.A. CD that she always played. <3

  • @beccerpyes Am so sorry it had to happen in your family, although we should realize that it's part of life and it does all the time, but I really do thank you and appreciate your listening to my upload... it's my signature favorite song. Merry Christmas and a properous to you and your loved ones.

  • Beautiful song... and a great singer, Eddy Arnold. He was an early country giant. Thanks for posting.

  • Beautiful Video And Music

    My Sweet Friend GBY :)

    Love Always Patti!

  • My brother and I used to sing this song when we were students and we live far away from home;every time I hear this song I remembered my brother(he died 2 years ago).It brings back nice memories to me!

  • A good country remake of the classic.

  • I grew up listening to Eddy Arnold & found his voice so soothing & melodic. He had an easy nonchalant way of singing; it had a very dreamy melancholic effect on the psyche. Reminds me of my dad’s voice; he could have been quite the crooner had he had the opportunity to do so.

  • sad but I can relate :( This is a good song.

  • @MultiNaton thanking you for your visit.
