Watched this in London at the National Theatre in Nov 2010, again at the Cinema in Feb 2011 when it was streamed live for just 1 night & then again this August at Sadlers Wells (with 14 other friends.) Every one that I talked into buying a ticket agreed with me that this production is a masterpiece. There is a strong Afrobeat following here in the UK, especially London, + we have very high standards regarding our expectations for music, dance & theatre productions. It's a great show!

@JeffMiele This was about a Nigerian Legend,presented from an American angle,with NO NIGERIAN IMPUT! So you're probably RIGHT about it being boring!
The London version is a different story entirely. Most of the cast are from a Nigerian background,and probably grew up listening to his music,and were very familiar with Fela.

wow. did we all see the same show? I hated it with a passion - no set, terrible lighting, it felt like...a concert. With no narrative whatsoever. I can't believe I paid more than 20 bucks for it.
