    Cherubini quartets are the most underrated pages of Italian Classical period, shoddily buried by his Opera works.

    I just provided for uploading the other five quartets, in addition to the work of the kind "csongetamas".

  • The Cherubini quartets have to be the most underrated works in the genre. #1 is a delight, and #5 and 6 are stupendous. What I like about the Melos interpretation is the contrast of tone and their sudden shift of dynamics, but I feel that Monica Huggett's quartet much better captured the rocky and spatial aspects of the works than this group, which is a bit too nervous and screechy. Unfortunately, however, Huggett's version is not here at YouTube.... so we'll make do here. Thanks for the post.
