Guys, if this guy has Otitis Media (Middle Ear Infection), cleaning it out with anything hard would not only hurt really bad, but probably make it worse. Heck, cleaning it out with things like a paper clip is what causes it!

i can barely see the TM. is it partially obscured? is there some type of epidermal overgrowth of the TM?

The tympanic membrane is red, inflamated, its normal color is white pearl, and transparent, the patient has an acute inflamation of the TM.
