@747K Let's be honest, it doesn't like to work all the time. It's severely flawed. Great idea, but terrible when you actually need it. It breaks down all the time; snow or bright sunshine. The system is terribly outdated. :( I despise the PRT

No, it just get's crushed and thrown off to the side- same as what happens on a train track.
-
What has change on the PRT SYSTEM?

i want a the ULRa prt to come to wvu if only we had an endowment of a couple billion

the trees are pretty far away and there is about 1 and half inches of clearance

Hmm...
British Columbia's SkyTrain (a rapid rail system) has track obstruction detection. It doesn't require a passenger to press the emergency button in order to stop the train for those purposes.
-
I guess you'd just hit an emergency button.

White female protection, and no, I don't carry a gun. I was joking about that. Not angry either, just aware of reality. Houston's Metro puts plain clothed cops on the tram, and I've seen them in action when some guy decided to have his near violent, psychotic episode. Anyway, I like this PRT, I just wouldn't want to be locked in one with some kind of nut.

AH interesting. Then please carry an extra gun for me too. I need some of your angry white man protection. Thanks.

thibaulthalpern: Actually you are right. I only drive a truck because I have horses. If I didn't have horses, I'd be retired by now and driving a nice little sports car!
I also ride public transportation, and I would be a bit apprehensive to be locked in a car with some of the "fine" people who gave shared the Metro tram with me.
Does this work? Does it take you where you want to go? Should it be expanded?

It works great. It is intended to connect the Downtown campus with the Evansdale campus. Thus, if you live near to these two places (or to any of the 5 stations) it is fine. I personally would like to see more stations and that it would go all across Morgantown, but I guess that is not what it was built for.

Where is this exactly? US (probably not)? What country, city and state? I would love to have something like this in Dallas, TX.
