  • Jeremy, My name is Anthony Ant McKnight, and I'm James Jamerson's 1st Cousin, beautifull job but here are some corrections. Berry Gordy loan from his family was $600.00 instead of $800.00. James Jamerson died on August 2, 1983 not 1985, but I truly enjoyed your production and hope I can use this piece on Jamerson's MySpace Page. Please let me know. Thanks & God Bless!!!

  • Jamerson died in 83 not 85. The Funkbrothers were paid more than 8-10 dollars later around 65-66.

  • THE GREATEST RECORD LABEL IN THE WORLD.. XXXXX LET THE MUSIC PLAY ON.. XXX

  • Jeremy - a nice effort, which would be better it you could have checked your facts more.. ABC was recorded in LA by a different crew of musicians, NOT the original Funk Brothers - and 78 Funk Brothers is NOT accurate - there are 13 officially recognized funk brothers, not including Dennis Coffey and Tony Newton who could be argued to be at least as valuable as the official 13. There were DOZENS of other studio musicians in Detroit, myself included, but we were NOT Funk Brothers.

  • You say The Funk Brothers played on ABC by the J5 ? They did on Who's Loving You (recorded in Detroit),But not on I Want You Back & other tracks that were recorded in LA.

  • Kudos to Jeremy Berson. Ever since I saw the documentary on the Funk Brothers, I've wanted to know more, more, more about the individual players. I've realized that all my favorite Motown hits of the early 60's were so memorable because of these guys and their supporting music!! Incredible!

  • Motown was the FUNK BROTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How could the Funk Bros Be treated, So, cruelly, So Badly...shocking!!

But a nice job of the video. Many thanks.

  • Berry Gordy is an asshole
