I'm glad that Pakistan is finally mobilizing against the Taliban.

The Taliban & Al Qaeda slit their own throats by attacking the Pakistani government and its people. At least beforehand, Pakistan was lackadaisical in its alliance with the US against terrorism.

The reporter Mark Philips seems intent on painting the most pessimistic possible picture of the the situation. Pakistan isn't launching this offensive because of pressure from the United States. Pakistan is launching this offensive because the Pakistani people are fed up with the Taliban suicide bombing Pakistani cities. Do a Google search for 'Pakistan public opinion turning against Taliban' and you'll see Pakistanis saying 'the killing of Taliban is good for Islam and it is good for Pakistan'

The Kashmiris are not fighting Pakistan, the Afghan/Chechen/Uzbek/local tribal terrorists are causing the mayhem, and are supported by criminal India.

Before the operation in South Waziristan, Pakistan has lost about 2,000 troops in anti-militant operations, and thousands more civilians. So like I said, the country has been committed and active against militancy.

However the US has floundered in Afghanistan and instead of taking responsibility, the US administration has simply blamed Pakistan for everything.
