Bill Barker -- Thomas Jefferson at Colonial Williamsburg -- came to Harpers Ferry on 7/28/07 for Lewis and Clark Days. This is from his second "audience", where he read from his "Notes on the State of Virginia". (His mic starts to malfunction a short way in so they cut it off and let him speak without any amplification.)

  • The real Thomas Jefferson did not like to speak in public.

  • Yes, I've always been aware of that. But it wouldn't do much good in presentational termsfor him to stand silently or sit at a desk and write while we watched, would it? ;-)

  • Charlie Sheen thinks you're a pussy.

  • ZOMJ! =D

    That is totally awesome! =O

  • Wonderful.

  • i saw this guy! he was at colonial williamsburg and gave a speech and everything. he's really good

  • Good retort! You do Jefferson very well. :)

  • I have seen him perform in person in his own house. Quite believable. Except for the pictures with the current queen and the electronic clock in one of the bedrooms, the house is very 18th century as well.

  • "we hold the reins of our government"

may we all remember those very words, whether Jefferson said it, or this guy...they are very, very, true

  • well done performance!
