  • This is such an amazing solution to the Haitian housing problem. Makes sense to me.

  • What is really appealing about thisoption is they can be shipped and in use housing thousands of people within weeks! Secure tie down systems and temporary generator power are readily available.

  • actually these tie-downs along with tie-downs across the top of the units would be great. much more substantial than tent cities. generators are always brought in for these projects until permanent power can be restored. housing, $2000-$5000? REALLY. this is a great idea. i only wish i were in a position to help finacially.

  • You're kidding, right? This is a great idea! With the rainy season coming, this would be 100X better than tent cities, and they could have some privacy!

  • I'd bet those tie-down hooks would be hard-pressed in hurricane-force winds. Lack of electricity will render the microwave and refrigerator useless. The average PERMANENT home in Haiti will be built for $2,000-$5,000; I'd bet these new campers run double to quadruple that amount.
