If you see the people in charge not having this influenza then the best bet would be that they are using it to "cull the herd" so to speak. Life might be worth while even under the whip or looking down the barrel of a gun. If you just say to the leaders you don't want to conform, they will destroy you. Don't worry. Dick Cheney is planning on nuking a city near you. Enjoy life while you got it because the the authorities are planning on divying up and enjoying that space you left behind.

The truth is some rich people will gladly kill you and take your life's work. So what the hell else is new. That's the nature of the human social dynamic. You will not hold status in a group until you believe and disseminate some lies or serve the larger lie. As a person gains status and approaches the top of the power pyramid, only lies, and collusion are meaninful to position, and position is the only goal. It's as old as the universe. Nice I'll definately look into it. Perhaps Alex will be exposed sooner or later or will it? I like how he uses counter-arguments such as 'jealous people', lol.
