how brutal. i compare this festival with mel gibson's movie apocalypto where they sacrifice innocent humans instead of animal. i am also a hindu and i honor god but i protest against this massacre which really seems to stain our religion and country and the people itself.

I don't know very much about this Religious Festival & agree that the animal sacrifices seem very cruel and exaggerated BUT to compare this with HUMAN SACRIFICES is beyond the pale. Throughout human history there have been many human massacres & genocides and to see the suffering of humans and the cruelty that some humans inflict on other people is the worst crime of all.

McDonald's and KFC sacrifice more animals than this and they don't even do it in the name of spiritual tradition. We need to stop the slaughter of ALL sentient beings for humanity to evolve to the next plane or we will auto-sacrifice and humanity will perish.
