I was taught a completely different English version when I was a kid:
"Wales, Wales, land of the mist & the wild. Where 'ere I roam, though far from home, the mother is calling her child."
A literal translation doesn't fit the music.

this is a very cool sounding Anthem, WAY better than the Aussie anthem...Land of my fathers is sung with more pride and passion than the Australian anthem. ours sounds like crap...
