Its an M420 MLW. IT WAS Originally from British columbia. It went from there to Gowanda New York, and then from there to Titusville where it still is today. The locomotive is an ALCO built in 1976.

The engine is a Montreal Locomotive Works (MLW) M420. I believe it is originally from the New York & Lake Erie.
The sound is the result of steel wheel flanges against curved steel rails. Check out some videos of Horseshoe Curve... you'll hear a lot of that noise.

I don't know the make or model of the engine. However, if you were to call 814-555-1212 and get the number of the Titusville/Oil City office in Titusville Pennslvania, I'm sure they can tell you. Thanks.
