The jingles face away from each other at the edges. That makes it a tambourine technically. Took me a minute after someone said 'pandiero.'

No guy . A pandeiro get maximum 6 platinellas and they are not disposed the same way . It's a real $20 tamburine that is played by the only Glenn Velez in the cosmos ! ! !

It looks to me like a pandeiro, which of course IS a type of tambourine from Brazil. He is playing though with a mix of Italian tamburello and kanjira techniques. Very cool!
