UC Regents chair Sherry Lansing says she is "shocked and appalled" by the images of police actions during student protests at UC Berkeley and UC Davis. She supports developing systemwide procedures to protect the rights of students, faculty and staff to engage in peaceful protest and invites the public to comment at the next regents meeting Nov. 28.

  • sounds like a bureau to me. where's the JUSTICE? fat cats run the uc system like its a corporation. education is a secondary thing on these regents minds, let alone the first amendment and holding the police accountable.

  • Words are cheap and procedural changes are too little and too late. How about accountability? We, the people, mend it. Where were you when permission was given to attack peaceful protesters, Ms. Landsing?

The Chancellors of both UC Davis and Berkeley were also asleep at the wheel and are now only apologetic and embracing free speech because of the outcry. What a shame.

The police officers involved need to be held accountable.

  • Would you please learn how to use an autocue when you lie. thanks again.

  • lol this is such a joke
