I agree and support everything you said. I believe they have been beaten into submission. I believe they think they could not could survive in the outside world without the help of their older (in some cases much older) husbands. I think they have been brainwashed. And yes it is heartbreaking.

They are trained to "keep sweet" like a mantra from birth. This involves stuffing away all emotions and desires that run contrary to what they are ordered to do their entire lives, down to the smallest detail. If anyone in this group does things contrary to the latest prophet's dictate, they can lose everything and never see their kids again. I have studied this group for 8 years. Children are used as slaves, currency, and pawns within the cult. Everything and everyone is owned by the prophet.
