This is Leslie West of Mountain and Derek Holt Of the Blues Climax Band performing this Mountain classic, in London's Hammersmith Odeon Theatre in 1988.

I wanted to make sure that this song was recorded in high quality with the VERY BEST sound quality possible, with all possible levels turned up.

Enjoy one of the GREATEST GUITAR TONES of all time.

  • Leslie West, Michael Schenker, Uli Jon Roth Announce 3 Guitar Heroes Tour

They will all jam together at the end of their sets!

    LESLIE WEST IS BACK!!!!

  • Lets all pray for the great Leslie West. Leslie underwent emergency surgery after being admitted to a hospital in Biloxi, Mississippi, on Saturday when his leg started to swell and his foot went septic. The doctors tried for two days to save it to no avail. The decision to amputate was one that was necessary to save his life. Leslie is expected to recover but faces extensive rehabilitation. We are all prayin' for ya Leslie!

  • Today the bells toll for Felix Pappalardi. 28 Years ago, Felix Pappalardi died. The bass player for Mountain, the producer of some Cream albums, and also played on some Cream tracks. RIP Felix Pappalardi. Missed by many.

  • @gsgbass465 Friends, let's remember Felix Pappalardi today. I would go as far as to call Felix Pappalardi one of the greatest voices in rock history. Tonality, vocal range were exquisite. First class in every way.

  • 1961 We had Mantle vs Maris, 1969 we went to the moon, 1970s we had Ali vs Frasier, in the 1989 we have this tone monster gem. We have memories of the finest moments in entertainment in every decade, and this performance of TFAIW is one of the all time greats. One for the 80's and one for the ages.

  • leslie has delicate hands, never noticed that.

  • This is all about passion and fire.

You can shred and play as fast as you want but without the passion and fire it's just noise!!

  • Great Guitar Music Is about the "TONE" not the guitar technics or playing fast, that is "NOISE" Listening to Leslie West, Jimi Hendrix, Ritchie Blackmore, Jimmy Page; they're all different but the same type "AWESOME TONE" They are the best ever!!!
