In honor of the Toomer's oaks, The Pine Hill Haints, the best jug band to ever hold it's first practice in Pine Hill Cemetery, have allowed us to pre-release "Born to Suffer," a short single off their upcoming album "Welcome to the Midnight Opry." The LP is the band's third on K Records and is scheduled for a summer release.

We decided a music video was the way to go, one hastily scrapped together with bits of unused iMovie footage from throughout the 2010 season, some of it shot before the Bama fan did his deed, some after.

Haints frontman Jaime Barrier, who graduated from Auburn in 1998, tells TWER that the song's lyrics are loosely centered around a lament from the narrated autobiography of famous Oglala Sioux holy man Black Elk: "The center is no more, the Sacred Tree is dead."

Or is it / are they?
