  • Another great review. As far as recommending an Amiga computer the 500 with 1MB RAM is great, but the A1200 has AGA so there are some games that look better on that system. But the A1200 doesn't play every Amiga game unless you get a A1200 compatibility patch, there were patches released for most of the games.

  • @cyde79 Thanks, I'm not that familiar with the Amiga 1200. Never had one of those, so thanks for the info. ;)

  • @tallboysmith Your welcome. As far as I know, Steve is on vacation. So I guess he will reply to you, when he gets back. ;)

  • @gerion79 wow thanks for all your input i really appreciate your time. i did try to contact steve benway a few times now on email and youtube pm but he never responded so i guess hes just busy. i just want to play good amiga games so id guess id go for the 500 or the 1200. again thank you gerion for you respones :)

  • @tallboysmith If you are interested in a second opinion, than I would really recommend "SteveBenway". He knows alot more about the different Amiga computers and is an awesome and nice guy. I guess he would recommend an Amiga 1200. I hope this useful for you. ;)

  • @tallboysmith With an Amiga 500 (1MB Ram), you can play almost every (if not all) floppy disc game that was released for the Commodore Amiga. As far as I know, the Amiga 500 was the most compatible system of all Amiga computers, but don't quote me on that ;). If you wanna play the Amiga CD games (CD32/CDTV games), I would recommend an Amiga CD32 system.

  • @gerion79 Hi thanks for your quick response, and im sorry about the tough question, im not to concerned about the expense, i just want something with good a lot games but im not familiar at all with these systems and dont know which games are compatible and what specs etc.

  • @tallboysmith That is a pretty tough question. Mine would be the Amiga 500 (1MB Ram), "but" only because I had one back than. I guess others would recommend an Amiga 1200, 3000 or 4000. Also I would not say, that it is the best. But an Amiga 500 in good and working condition should be easier to find and shouldn't be that expensive.

  • whats the best amiga system to get ? if i was to buy a retro amiga?

  • @blade004 Well, everybody has a different taste. So it also could happen, that a professional reviewer has to make a review about a game or genre, that he's not really into. Or maybe it's just an average shooter, that I like more than other people. ;) Who knows. I also played tons of Amiga games back than, but I also missed out tons of other great games just because I had a different taste back than. (like RPG's)
