Hank Drum

How I built it:

Use a propane tank that has never ever ever been filled, you have been warned but once again, use a propane tank that has never ever been filled. If you don't, it will explode when you drill into it.

I drilled two holes per tongue and then used a handheld jigsaw to cut a 'U' shape.

TO tune it, (and this is where you want to spend the most time), use a chromatic tuner and extend the tongue the other way past the drilled holes, go slowly. If you tune too high, it's harder to get it back.
If you tune too high, sotp cutting right away. Use a solid broom stick or equivalent and, from the bottom, press the tip of the stick on the underside of the tongue and give it a slam on a sold concrete floor, you will need to use some force with this.

Sooo when tuning... cut the opposite way of the U's? And hit it with each cut to listen to the tune? I don't have a chromatic tuner... Would an online tuner work? I would appreciate the help :]

@diezombee sounds right but I don't think the online tuner will be enough but I don't know how good your ear is ;)

I notice on some videos that people have been cutting squared tounges. Whats your opinion on this as I would assume it would be easier to cut them that way rather than having to round them. Should I get the same tone? Also whats your opinion on cutting a port hole if you will either at the bottom or the top as I have seen on some other videos

square will too, whatever is easier for you is what I'd go with. You don't have to put a sound hole, the sound will come and it will fill the room. I only made one so my advice is to experiment and have fun. :)

@acceptedones A Hang drum currently costs over $8k used if you can find one. Even copies go for thousands.
