BRIAN Howard's late, late penalty earned the Reds an undeserved but dramatic point after being second best for most of the game at Glanford Park.

Reds boss Simon Davey made just one change to the side that drew against Southampton with Stephen Foster returning from suspension and coming back in at right back. Bobby Hassell was somewhat unlucky to miss out after an excellent display on his return from injury on Saturday. Kayode Odejayi was given the nod to continue up front.

Scunthorpe recalled former Red Paul Hayes to their starting eleven as they look to halt a winless run at Glanford Park stretching back to September. The Iron also took advantage of the New Year break at the Football Association by appealing Marcus Williams' red card against West Brom meaning the full back could play despite being sent off last time out. Williams' appeal will be heard on Thursday.
