sorry for your loss, but a house can be rebuilt! Glad nobody was hurt!

There was just a fire on my street, just 5 houses down from ours...and the poor family was devastated. I was there to comfort them and their one dog ended up dying in it. :( I am so sad now and I sure do send you and all others who have to go through a tragedy like this lots of love and support. I can't imagine losing my house. I think you are strong people and a strong family and I wish you the best in the world!
I saw the new house btw and it is fab! :)

@ThirstySkunk910 Yeah, the old windows were original from the 1940's. The new ones are bigger and more energy-efficient.

The House on your Blog the house was nice but did the house look like that before the fire?

You can see what the old house looked like in the video here. Just imagine a roof on top of the brick. ;)
It looked a lot like the new house from the outside because it had the same steps, the same style (brick/stone/white siding), and the garage in the same place. Otherwise, they are completely different.

This happened in May of 2006, so it's been a couple of years. We were able to stay with some friends for a few days until we found a rental home nearby, and the house has since been rebuilt. You can read all about it on the house blog. See the video details for that link.
