In this video, Sifu Eddie demonstrates the usage of internal power & controlling an opponent through capturing or destroying the elbow structure. Because the Pan Nam system has its own Chi Sao, Sifu demonstrates the application to us in the context of the more widely known "Yip Man" style Chi Sao.

  • How Much are the monthly fees at his school? i checked the website but it doesnt say. plus the email on the site doesnt work anymore. i would call, but i dont have a phone cuz i hate talking on the phone. lol. also, does he teach bak mei to anyone or only certain students?

  • @VegaManX7 I'm not sure, as I haven't been to the school in a very long time. Try to get to a phone... in the meantime, I should try visiting Sifu & see if there has been updates to the school schedule & fees. I will post info & send you a message if/when I get any answers -- won't be for a while though. At least a couple weeks with my schedule. Of course you can always stop by, observe & ask questions. Everyone is nice & helpful.

how long were u a student at the school? did you enjoy it? also, how long did it take for u to begin to grasp the basics?

  • @VegaManX7 I trained with Sifu for about 2 years -- 6 days a week, about 3-4 hrs per day. I grasped most of the concepts pretty quick (faster than most), but application of the concepts is another matter. Some things just can't be rushed, & the more eager you are -- sometimes it can hinder your own progress. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but was sidelined by injuries, work & eventually finances. Pan Nam & Bak Mei concepts were a little more elusive, so a solid understanding of WC is very helpful.

it must have been a while back. it seems like there is only classes about 4 times a week now and only for about 3 hours a day now. man i wish i knew how much tuition was. i'd hate to go check just to find out i cant afford it.

  • im glad i found vids of the school i was in mores shou shu and now im looking for a wing chun school and i live in sac ima check his place out what are good times to come and do that?

  • sparring has something to do with fighting and that is none of there business

    ;-)

  • Bruises are pretty common so it's important to remember who works out for ego & who works out for mutual improvement. Some tap while others hit.

Finally, throughout the class, Sifu & a couple senior students walk around and touch hands with you, or teach techniques. You may choose to circle around & listen, or keep working out with what you're currently doing. Many students come & go as they please, so only a handfew are there from open to close. Most are present for 2 hrs.

  • I have not been to class for a long time now, so things may be different now. Some classes may end with footwork exercises, chain punch circles, stance exercises, etc. For the most part, conditioning is up to each individual.

Class is lightly structured because of the many differing levels of experience, goals, etc. Some spend more time on forms & dummy, while others spend most of the time on chisau & sparring.

  • So do you guys go full contact?

What about conditioning? Does your Sifu do any physical conditioning, or workouts I guess. I looked at the web site, classes are a good length 3 hours, can you describe a typical class session?

Sorry about the questions through YT, I'd come in to the school but I am currently not in Sac yet, I am moving there at the end of the summer.
