Revolution
© B. Lynch 2010
Revolution can mean an upheaval or a circling back. The fantastical imagery in B. Lynch's Revolution is of radical change as the charlatan tells our "fortune". Our fortune ends like all, in decay. This meditative yet slyly funny take on life and death is accompanied by a tongue in cheek song--"It's a Wonderful Day".
A brief history....might be denoted in the word Revolution. It's Show Time--the disco ball revolves. Money and youth are burned up, plants die, the grave awaits. Things begin and end, live and die. The imagery rolls and revolves. Revolution is the drastic change of our experiences as we "shuffle off this mortal coil".
Lynch, a multimedia artist uses handmade masks and costumes, creating props and surreal imagery to evoke a no-where place that poetically contemplates the endless cycle. All content by artist.
This project premiered at the Carnegie Museum Two minute film festival 7/15, 2010 in Pittsburgh PA.
