  • I thought the beatles were dead?

  • Ken Mansfield, of Apple, who was present for the Beatles' rooftop, talked about his white raincoat and how it stood up frozen that day 40 years ago. On Evening, he told of how he held several lit cigs so George could warm his fingers near them between songs.

Local rockers introduced were Buck Ormsby of The Fabulous Wailers, Don Wilson of The Ventures and Alan White of Yes and Plastic Ono Band. White was the drummer on Lennon's Imagine recording, sitting in on it Fri.

  • That was fun,,,, but how can a Beatles tribute not be? Pike Place was packed. Good band, including a Billy Preston, but only one guitar as the singer didn't play. They played the rooftop set in order: Get Back, Don't Let Me Down, I've Got A Feeling, One After 909 and Dig A Pony. Plus several others, ending with a rousing Hey Jude sing-along. for about 45 minutes of music.

  • Whoever pulled the plug on the Beatle's rooftop concert will live in infamy.
