Could you give me some information of the thermal conductivity of the straw wall as opposed to fiberglass insulation?
Also I think the straw/mud walls are heavier than regular plywood, so even though you are decreasing the price of the walls, isn't that offset by the price of the bigger foundation needed to support the heavier structure. Can the foundation also be made of some other (stronger) mix of straw?
I would love to build one of these houses and making the "cement" looks pretty fun too!!

Attractive, inexpensive, not toxic, and fun for the whole family. What else can one ask for? Oh yes, the insulation is better and I understand it can withstand earthquakes and other natural disasters better than houses built with expensive materials and methods.

Well, the tumber they use is expensive. They only saved a bit by not mkaing the walls out of wood...Where they really saved was siding costs/insulation/etc. I've built houses so I know this stuff is spendy. I've heard of people building these for $12000 to $50000. All just depends.

nice work! i have been building straw bale homes for about four years now, and i am thoroughly convinced it is the only way to go. it's good to see we aren't the only crazy people out there, keep up the good work!
