Some people complain about having to either sacrifice yourself, Alistair, or do the Dark Deal at the end. I find it to be the best part of the storyline, the part that show that being a Grey Warden is all about sacrifices for the greater good.

this should totally be in the game! the one thing i found a tad weak in this otherwise awesome game is all the characters reactions to anything that happens after the landsmeet. everything should get special conversations and epic scenes and such like this, depending on who lives, who dies, who leaves and whose romancing who

@muizenbrood55 that was probably because that bloddy sweet idiot loved you! Happened to me too, I was screaming at my PC: "NOOOOOOO!! Where is my savegame?" Killed the damned archdemon 3 times just to get to that dialogue.. but no chance!

there is a mod for that, where you can knock him out cold... which is of course totally realistic, as my warden was a tiny little weak elven mage :)

Alistair dealt the final blow in my game, I couldn't even persuade him to let me do it...

Man, I hated the ending here. I know it's symbolic to the maximum, but still. After all I went through I had to kill myself to stop the Blight, and when Alistair wanted to strike the blow, I knocked him flat on his ass to keep him from doing so. My wardens last words were to Alistair before he was completely out, "I'm sorry, Ferelden needs a king, and like it or not, you're stuck with the job my brother. Take care of Leliana for me, or I'll come for you."
