Tough year for Best Picture. I'd have voted for Taxi Driver, maybe All The Presidents Men or Network, but Rocky was the underdog favorite that year. I think it was the first independent film to win Best Picture. Just cuz most of the sequels have been terrible, doesn't mean Rocky itself isn't a great movie.

Really? And, what a great year for movies. Not only was "Rocky" the least deserving in its category that year, it is one of the weakest movies to ever win the Best Picture Oscar. Only "The Greatest Show on Earth", "The Sound of Music" and "The Sting" come quickly to mind for this dishonor.
