Screech Owls at WildCare

These orphaned Screech Owls are being weighed in WildCare's Wildlife Hospital. They will stay in care until they're old enough to be released back into the wild. Orphaned birds like these are always raised with others of their own species and contact with humans is kept to an absolute minimum. These little owls are gaining weight and soon will be ready for release!

i found the same owl very young!!!maybe 4-5 week

do you know what food can eat except chicken???

Good job rescuing the little owl! However you MUST get him to a licensed wildlife rehabilitator as soon as possible! These guys have very specialized dietary needs (chicken is definitely not on that list) and they are very hard to raise. Here's a list of rehabbers by state: wildcarebayarea(dot)org/rehabb­erlist. Please find the closest person and take the baby owl to them as soon as you can. Good luck!

When I was in the woods with my cousin and friend, we found two baby screech owls on the ground, alive. We yelled for help and showed some people the owls. Luckily, they were from the "Owl Society" a place that helps Owls and stuff. We named them Craig and Bert.
