In 1959, SS-199 Tautog, a Tambor class fleet submarine was sold for scrap and towed to Manistee, Michigan, USA. She was tied up along the Manistee River channel at the foot of Oak Street and opened for public tours. Later she was towed upstream to Bultema Dock and Dredge Co. and cut up for scrap. This movie is from an 8mm original.

A WWII Hero. Shot down a Torpedo Bomber in Pearl Harbor, probably the first american Kill in the War.

She became known as the Terrible T. One of the best fighting submarines of the war.
