Vocal impressions: Eric Clapton "Wonderful Tonight" as covered by the man of 1000 voices

This is the second half of me covering Eric Clapton's smash hit, "Wonderful Tonight"-- the first part of this recording was damaged but I figured something was better than nothing at all. I was going to grow a quick beard and mustache to make the Clapton impression a bit convincing but, with so many songs to do and never enough time to do them, I opted to keep on moving on with other artists on my list. With any luck, I'll have the budget to start adding in costumes and make-up/hair this year to really complete the illusion. Until then, It's back to practicing and getting more and more material on youtube to entice an agent and a backer who believes in me enough to invest in my talent. As Oprah said, 'you've got to pursue your passion'. This is mine. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I do singing. Now, go get busy pursuing your own dreams. ;)

I'd have to say I nailed this one pretty well but it's certainly not my best. At least if you do play both at the same time, you'll know I'm not lip synching. Still, can't ever beat the original but it was fun trying.

Are you saying I look 60 already? lol. Actually, Clapton is a pretty cool looking character, always has been, so I'll take that as a compliment. As for the guitar, I do play on occasion but prefer to leave the brunt of it to other, better guitarists so that I can focus primarily on the vocals. Sometimes, it's hard enough just remembering all the lyrics without getting tripped up by the next chord change. I know Mick Jagger feels the same way... Leave it to Keith.

Thanks, that's the objective. No real secret other than the fact that I love to sing and have had decades of practice.  Ideally, I'd love to incorporate the "look" of the artist to complete the image (with costuming, hair and make up) but don't have the budget. Maybe someday... In the meantime, I really appreciate the nice comments. Thanks! Stew
