  • In the good and excellent pianist: I question if is true there are one better than other or are our taste witch made the differences. Interpretations are quite different . 0f course, because each pianist configure in their own manner, according his feeling of the piece. I like Horowitz in a different way than like Chaimovich. I can not compare both.

  • Although I believe I have heard better than this, the voicing seems nice, and the cadenza is impressive. Rubato is rather extreme. I think I like this piece played rather on the fast side, like Horowitz in Moscow and Dora Jacovina's version.

  • nice but rather slow...

  • Left hand rhythm is written in quintuplets, he plays it as if in six eighth notes with a quarter note on the the first - overall the rhythm is dreary and muddled. Several other perofrmances on You Tube are much better.

  • calm down, everyone is entitled to an opinion. even YOU expressed your opinion already! he does play it like he is bored in my opinion. and he allows himself too much rubatto! who is he to change the tempo rachmaninov wrote?? rachmaninoff?

  • Whether we like to admit it or not, body language *does* contribute to audience perception of music. A guy flailing his limbs about and pretty much foaming at the mouth comes across as just putting on a show, for example. Personally, I don't see him getting bored, but I'm still not a big fan of the interpretation. Not bad, though. :)

  • I'm concerned with the music and this was so slow I MYSELF was ready to fall asleep.

He plays it way too slow. Here is exactly why this speed is wrong:

It's too heavy, making the piece move along sluggishly. The mood of the piece is supposed to be light and airy.

  • this was decent, except the performer looked really bored playing it. Also, it kind of looked like he was slapping the keys at the beginning.

  • Hey! Did you use the left pedal playing this at all? I might have to use it, but I would like to...yikes! I hate the dead sound of the left pedal! :D
