Maldives Manta Ray, Royal Island Resort & Spa

This was the one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I wondered onto the jetty just after breakfast and within seconds saw 2 Mantas moving about within metres of it. I smacked my head in anger as I had come out not only without my underwater camera, but without a camera at all. The security guard suggested I go and get it, so I ran back to my room, grabbed my camera, mask, and fins, and was back in 5 minutes. Although they had both gone, we spotted one after 5 minutes 7 I was straight in with it. What was even more magical was that the experience was all mine; no one else there to scare it away by chasing it.
