  • cool, I have a question, I hear snails have lungs, but, how do they breathe in the air?

  • @ladywey

Water snails breathe with gills, but land snails breathe through a respiratory hole in their mantle. The mantle serves many purposes. 1) The mantle oozes a substance that creates the snail's shell. 2) The mantle also connects the snail's body to their shell. 3) The mantle cavity also serves as the snail's lung!
