In 1993 Children's BBC held a competition to design a clock to adorn the broom cupboard, with the winner eventually unveiled by Alan Yentob, then controller of BBC1. Here he unveils the design before sacking Andi Peters! Then into Round The Twist, and a closing link including a trail for Saturday's Parallel 9, Sunday's The O Zone (I think the announcement was a Childline concert they were all doing) and then straight into Neighbours, which means they must have been short of time.

25.06.93, all copyright remains BBC.

  • Can you imagine them airing about a minute and a half of credits in full thesedays

  • Actually when these were repeated on Five in 2006 they aired the full credits, no squeeze or anything! (at least for the old ones I watched)

  • Not that I know of - may have happened on other occasions if they were short on time.

  • I remember watching an episode of Round The Twist on CBBC during March 2000 and someone wrote in complaining about the presenters constantly talking over the end credits.

  • i thought Ed and Oucho where intruoting the transmition then when the o-zone promo came on! if u watch CBBC Now u will understand!

  • Alan Yentob is some how this..intelligent arty..thoughtfull serious person but always seems to join in..i cannot imagine most BBC controlers doing this..also refering to his apperance on never mind the buzzcocks among things...good for him

  • Fair enough.

I've uploaded one clip where they go into it from the broom cupboard

  • There was another incident where they made a joke about "Ed's House Party".
