On October 2005, Lord Pakal Ahau celebrated his spiritual wedding (Sacred Hierogamy Doctrine) in front of the Angelus Temple, in Echo Park, at the full moon alignment time between Venus and the Moon, as written in the Mayan Prophecy of 2012 and predicted by Chilam Balam of Chumayel. The fragrance of the lotus flowers came from the lake to compliment the ceremony. A beautiful gesture of the Virgin in recognition to Lord Pakal. This 52-year event cycles and brings the Sacred Feminine in communion with Mayans to balance the paternal power that has existed since the Izapa Creation and the restoration of sacred principles as Mayans harmonized in their civilization. With this event, Lord Pakal also reenacts an ancient festival dated before Pre-Conquest times honoring the Nahuatl sun goddess Tonantzin at the Winter Solstice on December 12 in the Julian calendar, to fulfill an astronomical event, which specifically provides the zenithal passage of the Pleiades at midnight every 52 years (a year known as 2 Reed in the Nahuatl calendar) and to commemorate the remembrance of the ancient Day of the Dead in the Nahuatl ritual counting 52 days after August 13, a Mexican tradition whose purpose is to pay tribute to this celestial event in our Mayan/Aztec sacred calendar of 260 days. Please remember that these dates do not coincide with the Christian calendar that borrowed the same concept from the Nahuatl calendar during the papacy of Pope Gregory III, and was oficially moved to November 1 to honor Christian martyrs.
