This month I learned the caterpillar, (which was a killer on the thighs!), the airwalk (I'd had my hand positioning all wrong on previous attempts and wondered why I kept bashing into the pole!), then after 2 weeks off the pole and rather poor abs strength I did the bow and arrow, first from an iguana mount then tried going down from a cross-knee release. Perhaps a cross-ankle release would feel a more natural transition. The lack of strength in my abs really showed when I tried an air invert. And finally, my pole-fairy deserted me when I tried the cartwheel mount. I've done it before, going into an extended butterfly, but I wanted to go straight into an inverted "V". THANK GOODNESS for my spotter, Azzwoo, obviously I would not have tried this without someone there, but I left the near-miss in so you guys can see how important it is to have a spotter when trying new moves! Happy poling, be safe, and if anyone has any advice please share! Thanks for watching :-)

  • Congratulations on the Bow and Arrow (both ways!) and the Caterpillar! I love watching the interaction between you and AZZWOO...wish I had an instructor like her. She is so supportive..and offers detailed feedback on each move...like where to put the hands and feet. Great video, ladies!

  • Thanks Joel :-) I am so grateful to her for her support.

  • just noticin g acouple of things (isn't it amazing how you notice different things from different angles??) your lower arm when you are doing your cartwheel mount needs to be locked straight to hold you up, and the top one bent and balancing you. Great job han! x

  • Excellent, we'll work on that next time - thanks! x

  • good work girlie, try hooking ur calf closer to the pole for ur crossed knee release. and squeeze!!!!!!!!

She is such a perfect teacher...offering support, good feedback, and detailed instructions for hand and leg palcements on each move. Great job, ladies!
