I uploaded this song again in response to a request in youtube without the usual spiel before the song. I wrote this song as requested by Fr. Dante Camingawan during the preparatory days of the centennial celebration of the Phil. Independent Church or Aglipayan Church. Fortunately, I was at the Quirino Grandstand during the centennial celebration and was able to sing this song. I wrote this song as a tribute to all the heroes and martyrs of the revolution of 1896 in Laguna, most especially those who died in the battle of Sambat in Pagsanjan, with their monument neglected and forgotten for reasons I don't know and I hope that it's not because they came from the peasantry, wherein a lot of peasant revolutionaries laid their lives to serve as a spark for the spread of the revolution in the whole province. Most of those who were part of the revolution of 1896 in Laguna and those who survived the revolutionary war eventually became founders of the Iglesia Filipina Independiente, which later became known as the Philippine Independent Church. Pro Deo et Patria! Mabuhay!
