A Different Christmas Poem

After receiving an email of the awe inspiring poem A Soldiers Christmas, written by Michael Marks, I felt compelled to create a video montage (using the song "I Believe by Era) that would complement Mr. Marks words. I hope it touches you as much as it did me.

I am a Viet Nam vet; 101st Airborne Division, I Corps. When you watch this beautiful tribute, please remember things were different for us. I ask for no appologies, no sympathy. I will ask you to consider better men and women! They serve now. Our wounds are old. But I can say that every time a civilian shakes the hand of a returning vet, says thanks, or buys them a coffee, another stitch is placed over our wounds. This is all we ask! Remember them!

@Quasimoto44, Scrabbytoy here. Vietnam was a screwed up deal from the get-go. How can a war be fought from a map sitting layed across the President's desk and folks like Mcnamara calling the shots from D.C. I had a cousin who came back and "said" was always in the rear with the gear and was safe. Come to find out, long after he'd returned, he was actually a door gunner in "Dust Offs" and sucked in a ton of Agent "O". Fucked him up really bad. He's now lives in a shack back in woods in Ark.

I tried going through the military, but I didn't pass and as of late...I've had a very strong anti-sentiment towards America's involvement in foriegn wars. Still, regardless of prexisting treaties that holds America bound unto promises we'd rather not keep...I support the troops coming home. I support the freedom the troops should have...though in the wake of current existing legislature, it seems We, The People, are failing Our Troops...and they don't deserve that, we should be doing better.

Powerfully stunning. Our brother-in-law has just returned from Iraq. Our Marine nephew will spend this Christmas in Afghanistan (his 3rd deployment). God bless ALL of our troops...thank you for your service!!!

I grew up a military brat as we are known...and all us brats know what its like to have a parent doing what they need to do to protect us, I married into the military...so all I want to say is thank you to every military personel out there for what you did, do and continue to do for us here at home...Thank You
