  • I'd love to have heard exactly what Hoover had to say about MLK. This was so obviously a state sanctioned hit. With all the riots and the Panthers, etc, you just know they couldn't hit MLK fast enough.

  • I beleive that Ray was innocent. The science does not add up.

  • MLK would have drastically changed the course of American politics anyway, if only he had lived.

By the time they got to him he had starting to communicate and cooperate with other civil rights- and similar movements, regardless of race, both inside and outside the US.

  • "Who said an Elitist Democracy wasn't a "true" democracy?"

    Just about everyone except you.

And i'm not going to waste time splitting hairs with you over certain words.

  • What they feared was the black masses headed by a charismatic leader.

The FBI saw MLK as that leader.

As much has been revealed in now declassified COINTELPRO documents.

COINTELPRO is not CIA Office of Counter Intelligence, it is FBI Counter Intelligence Program.

  • It wasn't MLK they feared. It was the black masses. Keeping people down and fearful is a great tool in controlling the populace. Killing their saviour will keep them in check. Creates a power vacuum that until recently still not been filled.

40 years and no real central figure for the civil rights movement.

Now who said anything about the CIA Office of Counter Intelligence?

    That's quite the assumption

  • Um

Who said an Elitist Democracy wasn't a "true" democracy?

Please define the word "true" as it pertains to democracies, then go research Athenian Democracy. Then try to tell us that that was a "true" democracy.

    Sigh

  • "MLK wasn't a threat, not to the elites that govern."

Really. Then why was MLK targeted by COINTELPRO?

  • Their weren't two rifle, bit one, the Mannlicher. It was mis-identified by some lowly Dallas cop to the media. He holds it up for all to see and, low and behold, it's a Mannlicher Carcano, not a Mauser as proclaimed.
