http://www.1aauto.com/1A/EngineMounts/Chevy/Cavalier/1AEMT00032 1A Auto shows you the procedure for installing a lower engine vibration dampener and mount on a 1997 Pontiac Sunfire. This procedure is the same for most Sunfires and Chevy Cavaliers.

  • I just wanted to thank you 1AAuto for taking the time to make this video. I watched it about 3 times and changed mine out no problem. I knew exactly what to do to get the job done right. Thank you!

  • @rampio If a 2.2, it only has one motor mount. If it's a 2.4, it has two. Both cars have one transmission mount. The part he's replacing is also called a torque strut mount.

  • 1A AUTO ARE THE BEST. MOST HELPFULL INFORMATION ON THE WEB. THANKS SO MUCH VERY GREATFUL FOR MECHANICS LIKE YOU. tHIS IS THE ONLY VIDEO ON THE INTERNET SHOWING HOW TO DO THIS ON THIS CAR. SAVED ME ALLOT OF TIME AND MONEY!

  • how many motor mounts does a 2000 sunfire has? Thanks.

  • Great informative video. I appreciate mechanics sharing their knowledge, for that I thank you.

The only thing lacking is perhaps some symptoms to why the mount was replaced.

I have a knocking or more like a heavy clunk on a Cavalier when making slow, sharp rights and when accelerating rapidly from a stop. I think it might be that lower mount or perhaps an a-arm bushing ... from what I gather, the rear saucer a-arm bushings are weak.

  • You guys are awesome. You would make me happy forever if you did a video for the transmission mount.

    Good luck!

  • Great! I am about to replace all mounts. Thank you!!!
