RALLY IN KING, NC PROTESTING THE REMOVAL OF THE CHRISTIAN FLAG

A veteran's memorial monument in the small Stokes County town of King is at the center of a controversy following the removal of a Christian flag.
The city council voted to take down the banner last week after a war veteran filed a complaint. Now, the dispute is uniting other war veterans to bring it back.
The group of 10 veterans are protesting after King City Council members voted last week to take down the Christian flag at the Veterans Memorial in Central Park after the city received a letter from the Americans United for the Separation of Church and State on August 11 and a letter from the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) on August 16 threatening lawsuits if the flag was not taken down.
There is a protest scheduled for October 23rd at 10:00 AM at the Calvary Church on Main St in King.

KING, N.C. (WGHP) —

The King City Council voted 5-0 to pass a limited public forum policy Monday evening.

This policy will allow people of all faiths and traditions to apply to fly a flag at the Veteran's Memorial.

Details on specifics of the policy will be finalized by lawyers from the Alliance Defense Fund.

The goal of the new atheism is to marginalize Christians by claiming that all Christians are stupid or deluded. Christians don't want to initiate any kind of religious theocracy. We just want our rights protected so that we are not required to participate in the godless decadence that our society seems to be heading into.

@ISDP1337 If any muslims gave their life for this country that resided in King NC, I'm sure they would be more than welcome to fly their flag. The memorial is there and was mostly paid for by the families in King that lost loved ones in the wars.

We know that the Earth was formed AFTER our sun.. But Christians DO NOT CARE about truth... they would rather be pompous and haughty... GOING AGAINST NEW TESTAMENT TEACHINGS... in order to be "right".

In Genesis... it CLEARLY proves it is mythical by stating the Sun was created after the Earth and the Stars also..

@josephrl82 If you are a atheist and had died during service it would not matter to you at all as you think you have no soul or afterlife. You live for today and not for the afterlife. So your argument holds no water.

I am a Vietnam Veteran, Saved by the BLOOD of JESUS CHRIST. HE lives in me today and for the rest of my life and I have a home away from this earthly body. I want the Christian flay to fly here and am prepared to stand and protect it.

@vanbluemoon I agree totally! I'm sure that veterans of any faith prayed to God when they were on the battlefield! I don't understand "My Tax Money" argument. It was your tax money that paid for the war they fought and died in, your tax money that brought their bodies back to be buried and your tax money that will help their families go on without them. Let me ask you this though: what did those people die for, really? Did they die for Christianity? Because from what I can tell the United States army fights to defend the United States and not a particular religion. But what do I know?

It isn't news that christians are "deluded". This is fact proven by evidences. If u choose not to look at these evidences, it does not mean this fact has changed.

If u believe children are born into sin.  If u believe in Adam and Eve... If u believe a man flew out into space and had to be tortured for u.. you are..indeed deluded. Don't believe me? Check out the evidence with DNA yourself.

Your rights are our rights and indeed are protected.. throwing out red herrings is again dishonest. There never was a right in this country to mix church and state... therefore u are trying to push something that wasn't there in the first place and declare it is "taking away your right"... hogwash.
