The GLAST mission launched on June 11, 2008 and has been returning remarkable and revolutionary discoveries ever since. Recently renamed to the Fermi Space Telescope, after Nobel Prize winner Enrico Fermi, the mission is expected to discover dozens of new pulsars within its first year alone. The telescope is also giving us new insights into gamma-ray bursts and the massive jets that erupt from distant galaxies. Stay tuned -- the mission of NASA's Fermi telescope is just getting started.

  • I love this guy's excitement and energy! Dave Thompson presents this material with much more excitement than a lot of the other scientists I've seen on other pod casts. He comes across as though he thoroughly enjoys the subject! And his enthusiasm is contagious!

  • Pretty interesting. The porno music placed at certain segments made me lol.

  • We should write off every old piece of literature as fiction while were at it... we should let eminem and lyndsey lohan teach us how to live our lives instead of listening to some "irrelevant" book that tells us how to be happy and successful.... i mean... happiness and success are soooo irrelevant... then we'll be better off than if we had stupid morals.... maybe you should stop denying your conscience and being bitter just because you want the world to think you're cool...

  • ohhh nooo.. i ran out of NASAexplorer videos to listen to...

  • guys thought that the more they find out about gamma rays it could result into building a space shuttle in which could get involved with the men to mars project. Just a theory. think about it :)

  • nothing ever not one.

  • aaand your point is?they have never found one piece of evidence to support that god ever exisisted

  • Actually Religion needs to step back and stop pulling us backward with an obsolete book coppied so many times that no relevant fact still exists in it. even if it was still 100% correct its so outdated that we should write it off as fiction.

  • Great video once again NASAexploarer :D
