Episode 2;

"Joe." I groaned and turned on my stomach. "Joseph, honey. You need to wake up."
"Go away." I murmured tiredly.
"Joseph Adam." She said softly, rubbing her thumb on my forehead. Like she always did; like I remembered.
"Mom .." I dragged, slightly sighing. I lifted myself up with my arms and yawned as I turned my body in a sitting position. "What is it?"
"We have guests flying in. They'll be here soon to join us for breakfast. Please. Please be approachable, Joe."
I let out a taunting laugh. "I'm a person that deals with irritating paparazzi, girls throwing themselves at me, and complete exposure with a slight sound and glimpse of me." I threw the covers off me and swung my legs to the other side of my bed and grabbed my iPhone from the nightstand. "I deal with that wherever I am and whenever. I'm guessing that, that is enough to make myself approachable. I'm always approachable, mother." I spat icily.
I listened to the slight movement she made behind me. "Breakfast's ready." She said quietly before I heard her shuffle out and close my bedroom door.
I stopped staring down at my phone and turned my head to look over my shoulder, as if I expected her to still be there. I rolled my eyes at myself after a moment and got up as I gently tossed my phone on the bed to mess with my bed hair.
_____

The car halted infront of a nicely furnished house. It was too nice, actually. It settled on a spacious landscape and looked very taken care of. There were cars in the driveway. They looked new and expensive. Actually, everything about this place looked expensive.
"We're here." My mom chirped.
I got out of our rental car and took in my surroundings. These weren't family friends. these were rich family friends. Mom's never let me be so up close and personal with her "friends". Or should I say clients. I'm pretty much convinced this "friend" was rolling in money or outrageously famous. That just made me even more curious. If they, were they could afford a shrink or a physciatrist. So why me?
"Where are we?" I gushed as my eyes traveled up the height of the house. I had to crane my neck and raise my chin just to see the roof.
She hooked her fingers around my cardigan covered arm and tugged on it as we approched the fancy door. A sudden warmth danced around in my stomach. My empty stomach churned and did somersaults. The doorbell dinged in my ears as I stared into the glass of the door. Something on the other side of this door was making me like this. Like home. I felt like I was at home. I felt like I did almost three years ago. And I didn't even know what that feeling was; if it was happiness, anxiousness, safety. All I know is I could feel it and it's coursing through my veins. The door opened and a woman appeared.
My thoughts broke off to the slight squeals of my mother and the woman. They embraced and I could make up the woman's features. She had a fair height. Her hair ended just below her shoulders. It was straight and black.
"You're here!"
My breath became shallow when she pulled away. I could see her now. Air escaped my lungs as there was no more to pass through my windpipe, that seemingly closed up on me. I knew this woman. But despite my suffocation, my stomach still overflowed with warm butterflies.
She beamed at me with her pearly whites and gave out a welcoming smile. Her arms meet around me tightly and I hesitantly hug back lightly as the world around me spins a bit. I feel her rub on my back before she takes my hand as well as my mothers. Then we are lead into the home, I was admiring just seconds ago. My mother smiles at me, dejectedly. Almost as if apologizing.
I became lost in the conversation she and mom just started. Thoughts flew in and out wildly in my head. "They're out in the patio." I barely heard.
My hand easily slipped out of the woman's hand. They didn't turn back and question me. I blinked a few times, trying to make something out as they disappeared out of the glass doors. My surroundings had changed as I come to realize I was in a kitchen. Suddenly, I feel the gathered saliva in my mouth and it almost takes all of my strength for me to swallow it down harshly. Adrenaline seems to still be running through me as a strong cologne takes over the room I'm in. A guy in a tight-fitting tank top enters and the oxygen gets trapped in my throat again. But this time, I swear that I felt my heart skip a few beats before it fired back with powerful pounding. It almost felt like a heart attack. My stomach worsened as the butterflies went haywire.
"Joe." I blurted under my breath. The name rolled off my tongue easily. As if it came naturally, and it did.
