" Hi, I'm Kevin, with Justin Boot Company, and I'm here with Zappos.com to help see if I can explain a little bit about how a boot fits. First thing we're going to talk about is how to choose your size. If you were here in person, and we had a large boot inventory, I would ask you what your tennis shoe size is, and I would grab that from the rack as a starting point. Most of the time, you're going to be about a half a size under tennis shoe size. Sometimes, you are the same tennis shoe size, and sometimes, you're an entire size under tennis shoe size. If I were to order one pair, I would probably order half a size under tennis shoe size. Because of Zappos' liberal return policy, you might want to consider ordering your tennis shoe size, and a half size under. There are different toes, and heels, and all the manufacturers make different fits, so it gets a little bit confusing, but to keep it simple, if you were to choose one pair of boots, I would get a half size under what you wear in a tennis shoe. When your boots arrive, please try them on in a carpeted area. You might also want to rewatch this video for helpful hints when you've got the boots. Now we're going to talk about how a boot should fit. The main areas of the boot concerning fit are right here, where you normally would have laces in a shoe. This area here is the "throat" area of the boot. This is, to a large degree, what holds you into the boot. When you put on a boot, you want to put your fingers through these holes right here, which are called "ear pulls", and you want to give it a pretty good, solid pull on. When the boot is on, you will notice a sort of a plopping, or a thudding type noise, which means you've gotten down past this area. The length of the boot - so what we're looking at here, is how it fits the ball of her foot, it lines up right where it's supposed to at the widest part of the boot, and the inset area here. There's a little bit of play. It's not tight, but it's not loose. There's a little bit of give right there. It's perfectly normal to have heel slip on a pair of boots. What's going on there, is it's very, very stiff, the boot does not want to bend. The boot is staying flat, and your foot is bending within it. First thing that happens, is when you walk outside, you will start to rough this area up, and the boot will start to flex, and follow your heel. If the heel is not slipping, it usually means you are jammed to far forward into the boot. So, to recap, give the boots a nice, solid, pull on. Once in, make sure that the ball of your foot, the widest part of your foot, lines up with the widest part of the boot. That'll tell your length. You should have a nice, snug fit, across the instep area, right here. In addition to that, the boots are going to slip in the heel. The boots are very, very stiff right now, as the boot starts to break in, in this area here, it will follow your heel. There's a lot of helpful information under the Justin page on Zappos.com concerning fit and size. Hopefully we have provided some information that is helpful to you in the western boot experience, if you have any questions please feel free to call the Zappos' friendly customer service people twenty-four hours a day, or leave your comments here."
